MIAMI - HyFlyers Golf Club got off to a slow start at Trump National Doral Golf Club, and as the conditions continue to toughen through the week, the road continued to get bumpier.

The team entered the final round of LIV Golf Miami in 10th place and finished tied for 12th with Majesticks Golf Club at 6 over for the week. The historically difficult and long layout was challenging for most of the teams, but HyFlyers GC did have its bright spots.

Brendan Steele did his part on Friday with a solid 3-under 69 in windy conditions, but his teammates couldn’t get to under par, which put the team immediately behind the eight ball.

In Round 2, it was Cameron Tringale’s turn to lead the way. He shot a 2-under 70 and Captain Phil Mickelson and Steele provided solid even-par rounds of 72. Andy Ogletree was also in the mix to post a score, but barely missed after posting a 1-over 73.

The final round was the most challenging day for the team since all four scores now count in the 2024 season. Tringale and Steele combined to go 1 under, but Mickelson and Ogletree totaled 7 over to drop the team down the standings.

Mickelson will easily put LIV Golf Miami behind him as he heads to Augusta National Golf Club this week. The three-time Masters champion, who finished tied for second there last year, put in the extra practice this week at the Blue Monster in preparation for the year’s first major.

“This is a great place to get ready for Augusta,” Mickelson said Wednesday in Miami. “It gives you an opportunity to get momentum if you play well but also gives you a chance to play every shot you’re going to need into Augusta.”
